The short version

We collect what you give us to book a class, buy a service or hear from us. We use it to do exactly that, and we don't sell it.

Payments go through Stripe and our booking system, Acuity. We never see your full card number.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit. There are no advertising trackers on this site.

The tracks, cuts, transpositions and transcriptions we make are for your own auditions and practice. The songs still belong to the people who wrote them.

Want to see, fix or delete what we have about you? Email contact@savemyaudition.com.

In the Room, our audition journal, has its own privacy policy and terms.

Who we are

Save My Audition is run by Aaron Jodoin LLC, trading as Save My Audition, PO Box 197, Westport, NY 12993. When this page says "we," that's us.

This page covers savemyaudition.com, our classes and our services. Questions, requests and complaints go to contact@savemyaudition.com.

What we collect

When you book a class: your name, email address and phone number, the answers you give when booking, and the headshot and résumé you choose to upload.

When you buy a service: your name, email address and billing details, plus the sheet music, recordings and notes you send us for the job.

When you fill in a form: what you type, such as a waitlist sign-up, a class survey, or a travel reimbursement claim with the Venmo, Zelle or PayPal details you give us for the refund.

When you join our newsletter: your email address, and your name if you give it.

When you email us: your message and anything attached.

Automatically: Google Analytics and Squarespace record which pages are visited, the type of device and browser, the website you came from and a rough location based on your internet address. This tells us how the site is used, not who you are.

Card numbers go straight to our payment processors. We never receive or store them.

How we use it

To run the class or service you booked: to hold your seat, send you the details, deliver your files and answer your questions.

To take payments, set up payment plans and give refunds.

To send the newsletter, only if you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

To improve the site, the classes and our services, using survey answers and site statistics.

To keep the records the law and our accountant require.

Teachers do not receive your headshot, résumé or contact details. Classes are a learning experience, not an audition.

Who else handles it

We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. A few companies handle it for us, only to provide their service:

Squarespace runs this website, the store, our forms and our emails. Acuity Scheduling runs class bookings. Stripe processes payments. Google provides Analytics, and the email and spreadsheets we use for waitlists, rosters and surveys. Cloudflare runs parts of our class schedule. Venmo, Zelle or PayPal handle any money we send you.

We'd also share information if the law required it, or if the business were ever sold, in which case this page would still apply to what you gave us.

Cookies

Squarespace uses cookies to make the site work, for example to remember what's in your cart. Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and turn off Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site will still work, though the cart may not.

How long we keep it

Booking and purchase records: as long as we need them for our accounts and taxes.

Sheet music, recordings, headshots and résumés: as long as we need them for your order or class. Ask and we'll delete them sooner.

Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

Survey answers: we keep them to improve the classes. We only ever quote you the way you chose on the survey.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, get a copy of it or have it deleted. Email contact@savemyaudition.com and we'll answer within 30 days.

Some laws, depending on where you live, give you these rights formally. We give them to everyone.

We may need to keep some records anyway, such as what the tax rules require.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.

Young actors

Our classes and services are meant for adults. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to book or buy for you, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.

We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.

Keeping it safe

This site uses an encrypted connection, and payments go through Stripe and Acuity's secure checkouts. We limit who can see your information to the people running Save My Audition and the companies listed above.

No system is perfectly secure. If something ever went wrong that affected your information, we'd tell you.

Terms

Using this site

By using savemyaudition.com or buying from us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

These terms are governed by the laws of New York State.

Classes

Booking, payment plans, cancellations, substitutions and refunds for classes follow our Class FAQ. That page is part of these terms.

If we cancel a class, you can choose credit toward another class or a full refund. If we cancel at the last minute and you'd already paid to travel in, see our travel reimbursement page.

Classes are a learning experience, not an audition or a job opportunity. Feedback is the teacher's own opinion.

You may ask the teacher if you can make an audio recording of your own work. Video recording isn't allowed.

Please treat the teacher and the other actors with respect. If someone makes the room unsafe, we may ask them to leave.

Services and downloads

We deliver audition cuts, transpositions, transcriptions and rehearsal tracks by email. Delivery times are on our Services FAQ.

If you're not happy with something you bought, email contact@savemyaudition.com and we'll make it right or refund you.

Lost a file? Email us and we'll send it again, free.

What you buy is for your own auditions, lessons and practice. Please don't sell it, share it, upload it for others to download, or use it to make a commercial product. You're welcome to post a video of your audition or practice that uses our track. Please credit Save My Audition when you do.

The fine print

We work hard on every class and every file, but we can't promise any particular result at an audition.

The site and our products are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Links to other websites are there for convenience. We aren't responsible for those sites.

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Changes to this page

When we change this page, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you first.

Whose songs they are

The songs belong to their writers and publishers. When we make a cut, transposition, transcription or track of a song, we're preparing it for your personal audition use. We don't own the song, and buying from us doesn't give you the right to perform it publicly, record it for release or publish it.

When you send us sheet music, you confirm you have the right to use it for your own audition preparation.

Everything else on this site, including the text, design, logo, photos and blog posts, belongs to Save My Audition. Please ask before using it.
